Bleeding is a Chinese medicine technique used to remove heat and blood stasis

Bleeding

Bleeding involves pricking an acupuncture point (usually on the tip of your finger or toe) with a small lancet and extracting a few drops of blood.  It can have astonishing results, such as ridding one of a sore throat within a few minutes. In Chinese Medicine, blood can become stagnant, impeding the smooth flow of qi. This can cause friction resulting in heat build-ups (fever, sore throat, etc), stabbing pain, spider veins, hypertension, etc
